HOW TO TRAIN FOR CLIMB?
At least 2-3 months before the start of the tour, it is necessary to begin general physical training. In the mountains, stamina is most important. You will have to walk a lot up and down, carry a backpack, feel a lack of oxygen ... Therefore, we put in order the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Running is best for this. In winter - skiing. Training time is 1 hour. No need to set records, just run. It is better for the school stadium to prefer a place where you can alternate ascents and descents. One must strive to run 10 kilometers at a time, without taking into account time, but without stopping. A good helper in training is interval running. Duration 30-40 minutes. 150 meters we run at full strength, the next 150-200 meters we run at a slow pace, restoring breathing. You can also arrange races to the top floor of a 10-storey building. Training time 20-40 minutes. If it’s easy, run with a backpack behind your shoulders. Increase the weight of the backpack as you strengthen your body. Exercise 2-3 times a week and do not do all the exercises at once. Start with a light run, let your body get used to the load, and only then start adding interval running or floor runs. It is also useful to do walking for several hours once or twice a month.

WHAT VACCINATIONS SHOULD BE GIVEN BEFORE TRAVELING TO KILIMANJARO?
In fact, Tanzania has one of the highest levels of health care on the African continent and is not inferior in this regard to such states as Egypt, Tunisia, etc.
Yellow fever
The only vaccine you need to think about is the Yellow Fever vaccine. This disease, last time, was fixed in the country in 1992 and, at the moment, Tanzania is considered a low-risk zone of yellow fever. You need this vaccine if you enter a country from an epidemiologically dangerous country (for example, Kenya). In other cases, vaccination is not asked and vaccination is not required. Vaccination is contraindicated in pregnant women, people with individual intolerance to the components of the vaccine (note that the vaccine is given no later than 10 days before the start of the trip). In Russia, vaccination can be done in almost any large city (with a population of more than a million people). You can obtain detailed information on the list of vaccination sites by contacting us at the link "Application for climbing . " We will answer you shortly.
Malaria
The risk of catching Malaria in Tanzania is negligible (less than 0.1%), however, if you want to further protect yourself from this disease, we recommend the following actions:
- Take quality repellents with you for areas with increased insect activity (active substance concentration from 20%);
- Take a course of preparation with antimalarial drugs (for example, Malaron, Doxycycline, Lariam (Meflohim) and others). But, keep in mind that these drugs have a whole "bunch" of side effects. Before use, be sure to consult with doctors;
- Be sure to use mosquito nets in hotel rooms (Almost every room has such a net over the bed).
WHAT IS THE TEMPERATURE ON THE MOUNTAIN?
It is important to understand here that mountains, wherever they are geographically located (Africa, Caucasus, Nepal) are a place with a high frequency of weather changes. Right now you can go in shorts and enjoy excellent calm weather, and in a few minutes it may rain / hail / snow / strong wind.
The temperature may range from 30 O C to -30 be taken into account that every elevation of 100 meters, the average temperature is reduced by 1 degree. Based on this, you need to prepare for the winter climbing conditions i.e. take along a down jacket, hat, balaclava, thermal underwear, etc. (A detailed list of things can be found in the section Packing list If it is warm, you can always take off your warm clothes, but if it is cold and you are not ready for this, then this will be a problem .
IS IT SAFE IN TANZANIA?
Tanzania is positioning itself as a tourist country and the authorities are actively fighting cases of fraud, crime, especially when it comes to tourists.
In the daytime, moving around the country is absolutely safe. With the onset of night, we do not recommend solitary movement through dark streets and alleys. At this time, it is better to use a taxi.
General recommendations:
- Do not keep all the money in one place;
- Do not stick cameras, telephones, etc. from the windows of cars. There may be cases of theft of things from a passing motorcycle;
- Do not leave personal items unattended;
- Do not use the services of "helpers" (people who volunteer to carry out to the right place, find the right store, etc.)
